Bi Ming

About Benny B.M.

Benny B.M. is a Hong Kong novelist with an academic background in literature, history and philosophy. Immersed in the world of thrillers, he explores human kindness and cruelty, compassion and indifference. Beyond his fiction, he believes in standing up against injustice and remaining true to his convictions. Throughout his career, he has seized every opportunity to tell new stories, bringing the visual energy of cinema and comics into his novels.

With works published in both Hong Kong and Taiwan, he has had the joy of publishing more than thirty novels over the years. He was selected for the “My Favourite Author” list in Hong Kong’s Top Ten Book Picks in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2015.
 

He has served as a judge for two editions of the microfiction writing competition organised by 匯知教育機構, and for the first three editions of the Kwai Tsing Primary and Secondary School Microfiction Writing Competition. He was a member of the inaugural council of 香港小說會, a reading ambassador for Heifer’s “Read to Feed” programme from 2017 to 2024, and a speaker for the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research’s Microfiction Writing and Promotion Programme.

He is also the founder of 原創文化工作室 and the former editor-in-chief of the 原創空間 website.
