Contagion of the Missing

At that moment, I felt threatened by death.

Bloodshed, cruelty, and a battle against evil spirits.

Anything can happen on campus. A series of student disappearances at Tat Tak Middle School, along with the discovery of a diary and an incomplete 013 file, suggest that things are not as simple as they seem.

"Those girls...it's terrifying...how could this happen?" I kept looking around, but I couldn't see the girls with pained expressions that I had just seen in the camera viewfinder. Was it just a hallucination?

I reached out my trembling hand, picked up the camera from the ground, and looked at it again.

"Ah—" I screamed hysterically, "This is clearly torture! How could this happen? These girls... these girls are so pitiful, who is this? Who is this person with the mask on? No! Don't put the knife in... Ah! Help! Blood... so much blood... No! Don't cut her fingers... Ah! Stop! Stop... You... what are you trying to do? What are you going to do to these girls? No... no, you pervert!"

Just then, a strange sound came from the camera. The group of girls who had been lying in a pool of blood, their fate unknown, suddenly rushed towards my eyes... no! They rushed towards the viewfinder!

"Ah—" The sudden force pushed me to the ground, and the camera slipped from my hand. Was it a ghost?

While also writing horror stories, Bi Ming's Paranormal Publishing series takes a unique approach. Unlike Stephen King, who focuses on exploring the repressions that arise in human life and the chemical changes of unexpected intruders, or Yuichi Kijima, who meticulously depicts the dark murderous intent of people with special illnesses, he prefers to use human desires as a starting point. Through multiple first-person perspectives, he layer and elucidates the basic concepts of Chinese ghost and deity culture: "reincarnation/destiny."

Just as Hong Kong films, even with actors speaking fluent Mandarin, still exude a strong Hong Kong flavor, Bi Ming's Paranormal Publishing series is no exception. His fluent Chinese writing collages Hong Kong scenes and terminology, and through the coded paranormal files of "Paranormal Publishing," he brings out information on a series of brutal and bloody Hong Kong criminal cases. Although readers are reading familiar words, they are slowly led into a familiar yet uncanny "Hong Kong" by the atmosphere of the text. Between reality and fiction, fear seamlessly connects and slowly overflows.

Bi Ming is a leading figure in horror fiction. After getting to know him, I discovered he's an incredibly passionate creator. His focus and enthusiasm naturally lead to his mastery! While reading his book, *The Supernatural Press*, I closed my eyes, and images appeared on their own; listening carefully, there was no sound, yet a faint tinnitus. Having watched countless horror and supernatural films, I unconsciously cried out in my mind: Evil spirit! Come out!

What makes a good novel? It's one that has an irresistible appeal to everyone!

You reap what you sow! That was my first feeling after watching The Horror Story: Disappearance.

Although everything originated from the Ghost King Temple, as the saying goes, it's better to believe it exists. We should treat the unknown world with respect and non-aggression. Unfortunately, Ling Chutian spoke disrespectfully to the Ghost King, Lu Yi wished to learn all the tortures of the eighteen levels of hell and only learned how to abuse the weak, Zhang Xiaoyu actually wished for happiness from the ghost, and finally, Principal Gan Bingji, who wished for the Ghost King from the beginning out of jealousy, also met a terrible end.

There is no such thing as fairness in this world. Whether something is fortunate or unfortunate depends entirely on a person's mindset and thoughts. Principal Gan Bingji has always considered himself unfortunate since childhood. Even after being adopted, he was always suppressed by his adoptive brother. If he were to change his perspective today and consider being adopted, having enough to eat and wear, and being able to study as a great blessing, would he still be jealous of his adoptive brother? Would he still go to the Ghost King Temple to make a wish?

Will everything be different if I change my mindset? As for Zhang Xiaoyu... I can only say that she is a foolish woman who is obsessed with love.

Although Lu Yi appears refined on the outside, he harbors a dark and evil side. Ling Chutian, who claims not to believe in ghosts but wants to see them, actually dies because of seeing them, and even his soul cannot find peace after death. It can only be said that this is all fate, and one must bear the consequences of one's own actions.
